Yes, we did watch part of the inauguration. We watched Joe Biden take the oath for Vice President and we watched Barack H. Obama take the oath for President of the United States.

Some facts we learned are:
1. President Obama is the 44th President
2. During the oath, they put their hand on a Bible and the other in the air.
3. President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush left on a helicopter to begin their life as private citizens.
4. The First Lady now is Michelle Obama.
5. The Obama's have 2 daughters.
6. Michelle Obama's mother will be living with them in the White House.
7. It was a special ceremony with music and the crowd stood during the oath.
***Inauguration Day is when one President leaves and a new President comes in.

We also watched the inauguration. We witnessed both Vice President Joe Biden and President Obama be sworn in.

Some facts we learned were:
* The bible used for President Obama's oath was President Lincoln's Bible.
* Lincoln is Obama's hero.
* The Judge who swore Obama became confused with his words.
* They dry fire the cannons. (That means they shot it with nothing in the cannon.)
* At the ball, Mrs. Obama wore a fluffy gown and their daughters had to stay home in the White House.
* The girls did a Scavenger Hunt at the White House while their parents were at the ball.
* There were thousands of people attending the inauguration. "There were oceans of people."
* The parade had many participants INCLUDING Native American's from the Crow Tribe here in Montana.
* There were a lot of his relatives in the parade.
* There were cool floats.
* The White House is still being decorated for the Obama Family.
* One of the senator's had a seizure while at the luncheon. He is going to be okay.
* It took four hours to get the Bush family moved out AND the Obama family moved in.

We watched the inauguration on Wednesday, the day after, on cnn.com. Some facts we learned include the following:

1. There were so many people gathered around the Capitol building that they could be seen from space.
2. Since Chief Justice Roberts jumbled the oath, it was repeated the following day at the White House to prevent conflicts of legitimacy regarding his presidency.
3. Obama's girls wore specially designed coats from J-Crew.
4. At the end of the night, the Obama girls received a special visit from the Jonas Brothers....WE <3 (HEART) THE JONAS BROTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
5. Obama breakfasted with all the living, former presidents.
6. Following the inauguration, a giraffe was named after Malia, his daughter.
